Swimming Pool

Echoes Whirling round my head Rebounding through my ears Disorienting; Colours Shimmering on the walls Sparkling across the tiles Blue and blue and blue; Tastes Chlorine and metal Sharp and clean Didactic; This is a world of its own Splashy Wet Noisy; Then the slap and patter of feet And showers and cubicles and draughts And coins clanging through slots or,dropped, Skittering on stone,to shrieks, And towels soggy on the floor. Dressed again, home-time,lined up: "Can we go now, Miss?"
